Isaac's Home Program

We have started a home program with Isaac

It took a while to get all the services lined up that we have,

So Isaac's schedule for the week is:
13 hours of ABA thru Medicaid (Family Prevention Services)
25 hours of Aide care thru Medicaid
8 hours of respite Care thru ACS (army community services)
12 hours of ABA thru CARD

We also have weekly phone calls thru Creative Health Solutions that helps me know if we are headed in the right direction with Isaac's occupational and speech therapy. Instead of loosing this valuable resource, we gained more knowledge thru phone calls, all covered by Insurance.

The home program is going to be pretty intensive, and I can see that Isaac needs this.
The school system wouldn't budge when it came to one on one help at home- I am just thankful that we were able to acquire services outside of the school system.

So with ABA, we are incorporating occupational and speech in to his day, as well as the use of the Dynavox, and I will be looking into other therapy techniques that have not been explored yet.

I couldn't possibly have put this together without The Lord's guidance, and the prayers of families and friends.
Its starting to seem like routine, and repetition is what is going to help for Isaac. I will post weekly updates here.

More to follow.

Isaac's Home program now includes The Brain Balance Program, as soon as I am finished writing up his lesson plans, and reading the book  Disconnected Kids. I have about half the book finished. It looks interesting- and I have to say if it works- its far cheaper to go this route than fork over money - when you can do it at home.

Monday September 26th 2011

Today Isaac had 5 hours of ABA and his aide worked with him. I could hear him from the therapy room- while I was on the stairs- he was throwing a fit- something he doesn't really do much of.

Update as of February 3rd, 2012

Isaac hasn't been getting OT and speech since the end of September. I have yet to secure a spot with a new local OT bc he has so much ABA during the day.

We are going to loose ACS respite care as of April first. A new Army policy states that if we get respite thru another agency plus army respite- that we will loose the army respite.

I have another option for more services if we are cut off from other means of therapy- namely will be getting back to the Brain injury association of Virginia- now that I have found the documented evidence of encephalitis.

Isaac's Supplements and Homeopathic remedies are all from these resources:
